In the Desert There is an Oasis...For All...

Day to day there are so many issues in our lives. From our basic needs, family, friends, or jobs, paying bills, and the routine of everyday mundane things. Sometimes we get so busy with our lives that we become dry.

Jesus continues to live within those of us who have accepted Him as our Savior, but as we move away from that place we live with Him we feel thirsty. We continue with our busy lifestyles and fail to stop and take a drink.

I am one of those people who thrive on being busy and love the challenge of pressure. Even if you don't like being busy, somehow our lives take us there and we are running around trying to accomplish all the tasks that are set before us.

As we push forward to keep up with the pace of life, we may push away from Our Father, which in return makes our daily tasks even harder without Him to guide us along the way. I can only speak for myself, but I know that I only realize that I am really thirsty and the desert is really dry when I am in the middle of wondering..." which way do I go?" "Why are things so hard to accomplish?"

It is then I am forced to stop in the desert no matter how hot it is and start looking for that Oasis. Looking for the place where I can sit back under a palm tree, feel the cool breeze across my face, and kneel down at the pool of water and drink until I am refreshed, filled...overflowing.

It is only through Our Lord Jesus Christ that I can quench my thirst and make sense out of everything that is affecting my life. It is only through Our Father that I can hold on to the hope that I will make it through this desert we live in and finally reach eternal peace.

Remember, when the sand is blowing in your face, the wind is so hot that it brings no comfort, and you are looking for water in the desert, look no further than Gods' Oasis.

Our God, Our Refuge, Our Relief....

"They shall not hunger or thirst; neither shall the heat nor sun smite them: for he hath mercy on them and shall lead them, even by the springs of water shall he guide them." Isaiah 49:10

"And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst." John 6:35

I found this piece I had written back from 2006 and I find it applies over & over...
